Food Forest

Creating Model Food Forest in Drought Hit Region Of Vidarbha

Four Pursuits Venture has invested in a model food forest project in drought hit Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in a village called Payali Bhatali close to Chandpura Maharashtra to fight multiple issues namely:

1. Water Table Issues
2. Biodiversity Conservation
3. Creating and Supporting Self Sustainable Rural Economy
4. Air Pollution, Soil Erosion and Soil Pollution
5. Farmer Suicides

The project is being executed steered by Aranyaani, a food forest company started by Sandeep Saxsena, who is an IIT Kanpur and IIM Lucknow alumnus and pioneer of concept of food forest.

Sandeep has worked hard to turn 150 acres of barren land into a lush green forest and he is inspiring thousands of other tribes, farmers and organisation to move towards forests.

He is working on various such projects along with IIT Kanpur, Indian Army and other organisations to cultivate food forests and bring back the natural ecosystem of that place, reviving water bodies, bringing back birds and bees too.

Once we make one model forest in Maharashtra, we can easily replicate it across the states with lesser cost and logistics issues. We are planning to have our own supply centre and nursery for supplying indigenous varieties of different seeds.

We are very keen on doing this because getting closer to nature and aligning with it is our only chance of survival on earth.
