Attomarker has developed a technology platform that will measure the concentration of biomarkers in blood samples. Blood contains many components – biomarkers – that have normal levels during good health and change when you get sick.

The Attomarker platform is an array of gold nanoparticles which are printed into an array of sensor spots over which the blood sample flows. The spots are illuminated from below to produce scattered light that changes with the mass of biomarker on the surface of the gold nanoparticles.

The Attomarker technology can also work at home. A version of the instrument is able to measure many biomarkers from a drop of blood.

A hand-held device using an iPhone video camera to measure the brightness changes of the gold nanoparticles, calculates the result, and sends it to the Cloud. It can therefore provide laboratory-quality measurements, checked into the Cloud and passed on to a clinician for a tele-consultation.
